Manx Telecom is to support the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, in a £20,000 sponsorship deal, announced today. The games, which will be held between 7th - 13th of September, 2011, will be one of the biggest events ever to take place on the Island.
Announcing the sponsorship, Chris Hall, Manx Telecom Managing Director, said. “We are both delighted and honoured to support the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games; it’s a unique event, which will put the Isle of Man in the global spotlight. Everyone at Manx Telecom will be involved in one way or another in supporting the games, and we look forward to being one of the organisations which makes it all happen”.
Manx Telecom will be a Partner Sponsor for the Games, one of eight such sponsors, and the announcement of MT’s involvement is the latest boost to the momentum of the event, which will bring over 1,000 competitors, 250 officials, plus the world’s media, to the Island in 2011.
Commenting on the announcement, Geoff Karran, Chairman of the Organising Committee, said, “It’s fantastic to have Manx Telecom’s support for the Games. With their backing, the success of the games is put on an even more certain footing, and we look forward to working in partnership with them to ensure that the 2011 games are one of the most memorable ever”.
